Dunia Miniaturku: 1:50 Scale Model MAN TGA SLT 8x4 tractor with GOLDHOFER 16-axle Girder Trailer

Presented here is the 1:50th scale MAN TGA XXL 8x4 prime mover with Goldhofer 16-axle girder trailer in Schaumann livery from Conrad. Out of the box, the model is supplied with 4 x 3-axle modules, 2 x 2-axle modules and 6 x bed frame sections along with gooseneck and MAN TGA 8x4 tractor.

The front section of the trailer connects to the tractor using a gooseneck while the rear trailer can be assembled with the supplied pusher bar, allowing a second tractor to be displayed in a push/pull configuration. This is a nice addition with the model and another alternative is to fix the tow bar to the front modules instead of the gooseneck for additionad display possabilities.

Each of the Goldhofer modules feature a linked steering system with the provision for each module to be linked to the next via metal steering bars that connect between the modules, thus linking the steering to all operate together. This is a nice touch on the model along with the pivoting supports that connect the wheels to the frame to simulate the suspension found on the full sized modules.

The parts supplied with the model allow other configurations to be assembled, including the setup pictured above with the modules linked together using the supplied pins to produce a flatbed trailer.

The suspended trailer frame locates sucurely to the modules and clicks into place. In the pictures here, only 6 axle lines have been used instead of the supplied 8 to reduce the space required to display the model.

The front modules also feature the same hook up plate which clips into place. The goosenech is pinned into place and has stiff hydraulics allowing the gooseneck to adjust to the tractor height.

The trailer is completely modular and is assembled using the large plastic pins. Each component links into each other and both the bed and arms can be assembled to different lengths as desired. In the pictures, the bed has been fully assembled with the extending arms having one section missing from each to reduce the overall length.

The trailer bad can be widened hydraulically and a number of cross member bars are supplied with the model allowing three different widths to be selected. The bars push fit into the holes on the inner frame lip.

The entire cab frame can be tilted forward to reveal the metal engine block at the heart of the chassis. Behind the cab is a red painted frame with integrated tanks, air filters and cooling module, complete with top mounted fan blade detailing. The twin exhaust stacks rise prominently on each side of the model and a silver diamond plate foot panel is located above the chassis frame. The cab's interior has be reproduced with a full length light bar fixed to the roof and rear view mirrors supplied for added realism.

The addition of a pintle hitch on the rear frame allows the model to be displayed towing the goldhofer modules as an option to the supplied gooseneck and the front mounted towing frame integrated into the bumper also allows the tractor to be used as a pusher at the rear of a haulage setup with an alternative rig doing the towing.
